I saw this at the office today (parked in my spot). They tell me it just needs a motor. Parade car I wonder. |

Noticing those orange wheel chocks you might also need a parking brake. |

Tim, it looks like the radiator is leaking in your spot. You better check that out. |

Tim, it looks like the radiator is leaking in your spot. You better check that out. It was an oil leak. The dealer did not tighten the oil pan plug and it leaked. |

It could be turn signal fluid that is leaking. |

Tim, it looks like the radiator is leaking in your spot. You better check that out. I had a 5000 mile inspection and oil change at the Norfolk dealer (Volvo) and someone at my office called me to tell me there was an oil puddle under my car's parking spot. I went to my driveway to look under it and it was dripping. The dealer was called ASAP and they sent a mechanic (probably the guy that didn't tighten it) down to my house to fix it. And he did. I gave him lunch money as my thanks. |

Excellent (but not surprising) response from the Volvo folks! Super cool of you re the parking lot stain - I know some people that would have them pressure wash the stain :/ |

I got hypothermia just looking at that car. The coldest ride of my life was leaving Great Lakes NAS in February driving to Pensacola Florida. 3 of us in a Beetle we would of burned wood on the floorboards if we could of |

Her rear floorboard rusted out and the only thing that separated me from the road was a thin piece of wood they put down. |

My parents (what were they thinking?) rented a small camper to pull behind our beetle all the way from NJ to Florida in 1968. They abandoned the idea when the beetle started doing wheelies as it tried to pull the camper out of the rental location. Thank goodness! The trip was in June. When we hit northern Virginia the temperature was in the high nineties and we had to stop at a motel as my poor sister was throwing up from riding with no air conditioning and of course the rear windows didn’t roll down. |

It's cute. Are they going to get you an engine for your birthday, or hitch it up and tow you around town? |

Engine is next then I guess someone will drive it around. I hope I get to, it's been a LONG time since I last drove one. |

I got hypothermia just looking at that car. The coldest ride of my life was leaving Great Lakes NAS in February driving to Pensacola Florida. You are correct. I worked one Christmas holiday from college at a friends dry cleaner business in St Louis. It was a 40 min drive in his VW bus full of dirty laundry. I had to wear a polar jump suit as I drove it because it had no heat or next to none. |

I got hypothermia just looking at that car. The coldest ride of my life was leaving Great Lakes NAS in February driving to Pensacola Florida. Years ago, I had a buddy that had a 60-something Beetle and he rigged up a contraption to blow heat from the engine to defrost the windshield, using some old Electrolux vacuum cleaner hoses and other parts. He was quite ingenious. |

On the trip to Florida that I referenced above, on the way home to NJ, on a lark, my parents made a side trip to the banks where we stayed at the John Yancey overnight. Thus began our 50+ year (so far) love affair with the Outer Banks. Four generations are still loving that special place. |
