All recommendations are progression-based tips and will not necessarily be thebest for an overall DPS ranking.
1.1.
Talent Builds By Boss
To make importing talents easier, I have aggregated the builds into the listbelow into three main builds. Taking these as a baseline, you can handle allraid encounters in this tier.
2.
Dragonflight Raid Talent Builds for Survival Hunter

Suggested Encounters:
- Gnarlroot
- Council of Dreams
- Tindral.
- Fyrakk
Be sure to make use of the 'Copy Export String' button to import the build directly into your game!

General Defensive Usage Notes
Survival Hunter has several defensive spells that you should plan to use and rotatethroughout mechanics. You should opt to use the smaller cooldown spells oftenas needed with incoming mechanics and save bigger cooldowns like Aspect of the Turtlefor large incoming damage.
Exhilaration
Fortitude of the Bear with a Tenacity Pet summoned.
Survival of the Fittest
Survival Hunter Rotation and Cooldowns
4.2.
General Cooldown Usage
Survival Hunter has a few cooldowns to think about usingoptimally on the fights in Amirdrassil:
Spearhead — Our 90-second cooldown. Not used at all times!
Death Chakram — Our small, 45-second mini-cooldown.
Fury of the Eagle — Barely counts as a cooldown, but is still worth explicitly saving for moments of big AoE, for example.
In addition to the general rotation, you want to keep in mind that yourgoal is to use your cooldowns as often as possible during an encounter. Withthat in mind, your secondary goal is to use them at the correct time.
I highly suggest using some Addon or WeakAura to track the estimated time todie of your target/boss target.MethodRaid Tools has this as an option if you are already using this addon.By tracking time to die, if you know that you can only fit one more cycle ofyour cooldowns in before the boss dies, you can choose to hold these cooldownsto better line up with Bloodlust, your Potion, or even your othercooldowns, trying to look for opportunities to stack all of them.
5.
Gnarlroot
5.1.
Defensive Usage
- Try to be liberal with defensive cooldowns during the intermission, especially if you are running far to soak
Splintering Charcoaland debuff branches with
Ember-Charred.
5.2.
Cooldown Timings
- Ensure
Fury of the Eagle lineups with spawns of adds.
5.3.
Mechanical Tips
- On Mythic there are larger adds that need to be focuseddown. Make sure you are ready to swap to theseas they are about to spawn.
For more information, please refer to our Gnarlroot guide.
6.
Igira the Cruel
6.1.
Defensive Usage
- If you are targeted with
Blistering Spear make sure touse at least
Exhilaration before it hitsif you are low on HP.
- Consider using
Aspect of the Cheetah if targeted by
Slicing Torment. This can make it much easier to dodgethe circle with the increased movement speed. Note that the traveltime on the jump is based on distance from the boss, so it is usuallya good idea to use Turtle to run far as well.
- After each intermission the boss deals increased damage. Thismeans it is more critical to have good defensive usage after eachsubsequent intermission. By the end of the fight you should be quiteliberal with uses of
Exhilaration.
6.2.
Cooldown Timings
- Ensure that
Fury of the Eagle is available and used on every Spear spawn.
6.3.
Mechanical Tips
- Try to position yourself at a far enough distance away so thatdodging
Twisting Blade is easier.
- During the intermission make sure you are mindful of your positioning so youdo not get accidentally knocked back into a
Marked for Torment circle.Soaking more than once will be deadly.
For more information, please refer to our Igira guide.
7.
Volcoross
7.1.
Defensive Usage
- While soaking
Flood of the Firelands deals a relatively smallamount of damage, shortly after the boss will channel
Serpent's Fury. This is your best candidate to use your defensive cooldowns.
7.2.
Cooldown Timings
- No specific timings to mention.
7.3.
Mechanical Tips
- When soaking
Flood of the Firelands be sure to positionyourself so that you get knocked back in the correct direction. Thedirection is determined based on the position of your character andthe center of the soak.
For more information, please refer to our Volcoross guide.
8.
Council of Dreams
8.1.
Defensive Usage
- Be sure to use a defensive if you are ever soaking
Barreling Charge.Depending on how many people are also soaking
Exhilaration should be enough, or if it is very few peopleconsider using
Aspect of the Turtle. You will still get the debuff.
8.2.
Cooldown Timings
- No specific timings to mention.
8.3.
Mechanical Tips
- Be sure to pay attention to boss health to kill them as evenly aspossible.
For more information, please refer to our Council of Dreams guide.
9.
Larodar, Keeper of the Flame
9.1.
Defensive Usage
- Be sure to progressively use more defensive abilities for each cast of
Raging Infernoas it does ramping damage for each subsequent cast.
- You should consider using at least
Exhilaration when you soak
Falling Embers in Phase 2.
- Pay attention in Phase 2 if you get targeted by
Flash Fire. Youshould use
Exhilaration tohelp get this absorb off you quickly before you explode when it expires.
9.2.
Cooldown Timings
- Consider delaying cooldowns around picking up the
Blazing Coalescence orb. This does deal a bit of damagewhen picking up but also gives you increased critical strikechance for 10 seconds. The buff is not super importantto plan around, but its worth paying attention to these spawnsaround your cooldowns since they need to be soaked regardless.
9.3.
Mechanical Tips
- If you are targeted by
Scorching Roots be sure to notget hit and kite this effectively so your group members can easily purifyit with the Seed of Life.
For more information, please refer to our Larodar guide.
10.
Nymue, Weaver of the Cycle
10.1.
Defensive Usage
- Be sure to use at least
Exhilaration when soaking the smallercircles throughout the room.
10.2.
Cooldown Timings
- No specific timings to mention.
10.3.
Mechanical Tips
- While fighting the Cycle Warden Nymue is effectively immune soyou should just focus the add and not worry about the boss.
For more information, please refer to our Nymue guide.
11.
Smolderon
11.1.
Defensive Usage
- Depending on the strategy used you can save
Exhilaration to help healoff your
Overheated debuff quickly. You might be stacking with group membersfor this and if so you typically want all of these to be healed off at once so becautious.
11.2.
Cooldown Timings
- Typically you will want to save cooldowns for the intermission phase where you willget significantly increased damage from
Ignited Essence. You have 5 orbs to collecteach intermission and if you fail to collect any the boss instead gets the buff.
- The timings for the intermission after you pick up your orbs is roughly~1:10,~2:50, ~4:30, and ~6:00. You should ensure you have a
Spearheadavailable for every phase. This might mean delaying your orb pickups slightlyon the first set, while the remaining ones should be easy enough to get to workout.
11.3.
Mechanical Tips
- Before the intermission starts you will get knocked back and spawn 5
Ignited Essence orbs you need to soak. Soak them all within a short time of one another, as the buff does not extend on each pickup.
For more information, please refer to our Smolderon guide.
12.
Tindral Sageswift, Seer of the Flame
12.1.
Defensive Usage
- No specific defensive usage to mention.
12.2.
Cooldown Timings
- Generally speaking the fight works out naturally well for our 2 minutecooldowns if you use things on cooldown as you get them. You should always havethese for every intermission burn phase.
12.3.
Mechanical Tips
- You can
Disengage the root, but you will explicitly not want to do this on Mythic.
For more information, please refer to our Tindral guide.
13.
Fyrakk the Blazing
13.1.
Defensive Usage
- No specific defensive usage to mention. Not because you will not be using aton of defensives, but because the fight is highly dynamic with no single, massive hits or bursts of damage.
13.2.
Cooldown Timings
- No specific timings to mention, other than ensuring
Fury of the Eagleuse on the small adds throughout Phase 2.
13.3.
Mechanical Tips
- No specific tips to handle mechanics to mention.
For more information, please refer to our Fyrakk guide.
